Ethics Policy
Last Updated: April 14, 2026
Goodmunity is committed to the highest standards of journalistic ethics. This policy governs the conduct of our editorial team and contributors.
Principles
Accuracy
We strive for accuracy in all reporting. Facts are verified before publication. When errors occur, they are corrected promptly and transparently in accordance with our Corrections Policy.
Independence
Our editorial decisions are made independently of advertisers, sponsors, investors, and other commercial interests. No external party has editorial approval or influence over our coverage.
Fairness
We present information fairly and in context. When covering disputes or controversies, we seek comment from all relevant parties. We distinguish clearly between news reporting, analysis, and opinion.
Transparency
We are transparent about our methods, sources, and any limitations in our reporting. We disclose potential conflicts of interest and clearly label sponsored or partnership content.
Conflicts of Interest
Goodmunity editorial staff and contributors must disclose any financial interests, investments, or relationships that could create a conflict of interest with the subjects of their reporting. Specifically:
- Editorial staff may not hold investments in companies they cover without disclosure.
- Contributors must disclose any advisory, consulting, or employment relationships with companies mentioned in their articles.
- Gifts, travel, or other benefits from companies or individuals in the startup ecosystem must be declined or disclosed.
- Any potential conflict is reviewed by the editorial lead before publication.
Sponsored Content & Advertising
- Sponsored content is clearly labeled with “Sponsored” or “Partner Content” tags.
- Advertising does not influence editorial content or story selection.
- Editorial staff do not participate in sales or advertising negotiations.
- Affiliate links, if used, are disclosed to readers.
Use of AI Tools
We embrace AI as a tool to enhance our journalism while maintaining human oversight:
- AI tools may assist with research, data analysis, and initial content drafting.
- All AI-assisted content is reviewed, fact-checked, and edited by human editors before publication.
- AI is never used as a sole source of information or to fabricate quotes, data, or sources.
- We are transparent about our use of AI tools in our Editorial Policy.
